These are the days

Two thousand and sixteen - a year we will always remember...

Half of this year we were living in hotels and AirBnB's out of our back packs, ending our world trip of eight months, searching for universities, schools and a place to call home again. We fell for New York City and Brooklyn is the borough that pulled our heart strings the most. The other half of 2016 we lived without our belongings - our minimalistic new life in a new city, and Daniel started with his partners a new company of their own.

Yes, 2016 also had it's challenges for us, but we choose to start fresh - again, outside our comfort zones and we are happy we did!

Our first Christmas here in New York was truly a good one - we had food, presents and even went to see this movie. These last few days were filled with slow days, at home and in the city, which is glowing with Christmas trees and light shows.

Yes, these are the days of slowing down and counting our blessings - we are healthy, we are together, we have food and a roof over our heads, and we are alive...

I'm not going to mention all the many (many) negative, cruel, and at times inhumane things this year has brought to the world... I'm focussing on all the many (many) other good and positive things that also happened - nearby or far away. The good sides of humanity and the positive sides of our world.

We all have a choice to make with this new year upon us and I know where my face will be looking at.... always towards the light.

Have a good end of this year, Thank You for reading and being part of the Moksi Collective community!

I will see you in the new year - 2017, here we come!
