Instagram Inspirations ~ A Family Afar

Whenever I see families travelling the globe longer than an average summer holiday, I'm always curious to see who they are, where they are going and how they experience being on the road for so long.

One of these families is Kelly and her husband Kiko, who are travelling for a year with their two children, Zuki and Yoda.*

I've found them on Instagram, just before they set of into the world, from their home on the sunny island of Kauai, Hawaii. I really love reading along, especially since Kelly is so kind to share their travelling adventures on their blog, which reads like a novel. It's filled with many tips and details how they experience travelling with kids and how things are not always go as planned.

I'm sucked into far away countries, totally different cultures, beautiful settings, refreshing observations and I soak it all up!

Kelly and Kiko have travelled before but this is the first time they do this with their kids. If you are wondering why they travel,  how they budget it all or more about their preparations before they left, read Kelly's frequent asked questions here.

Because we're in the middle of our own where-shall-we-travel-to stage (and the question we get daily, where-are-we-moving-to-after-Dubai), reading about other families travelling with their children and cherishing this special time together, makes us even more confident that travelling is the right thing for our foursome - before we settle anywhere else, this is what we will do first.

So, if you feel wanderlust tickling your soul or your adventurous side is notching your brain, hop on a virtual ride with Kelly and her family and read along with A Family Afar, while you sit comfortably in your chair with a drink!

Instagram Inspirations ~ Blog Society

"...share where you are heading with your readers..."  -  Jaclyn ~ Blog Society

Well, I finished the digital e-course from Blog Society - Digital Bravery - and boy, it was a lot to take in.

I really learned different and new things. About SEO (the technical behind the scenes stuff), Marketing, Branding, Community, honestly hours worth of reading material. We even had podcasts. Now let me by honest here. I didn't know what a podcast was. Yep, I said it. I was waiting for a visual to pop up. But that's not how this works. A podcast is for you to listen to. Like listening to the radio. (you should have seen my face when I finally figured this out... I know... dinosaur Maureen...).

Luckily we had great help from Jaclyn, the founder of Blog Society, who is not only a great teacher and mentor but really approachable and knowledgeable about all things Marketing. If you are interested in how to up your blogging game, be more organized or simply want to learn more about social media and how to move forward, Jaclyn is your girl.

I'm not a Marketing-girl by trade. But I can sell ice to an Eskimo if needed. It's just harder to share feelings and thoughts, when you are talking online to people. If you meet me offline, you know I'm an open book. But to share where I want to take The Moksi Homes through a screen, is hard really. How do I connect the way I normally do? You can't hear me, or see me so sharing with words, via your tablet, phone, or computer isn't the same. But I will try!

So creating and marketing at the same time - that's going to be my challenge - and that's the path I'm walking on now. And to make things a little tiny bit more complicated, we (our little foursome) are moving from Dubai as well, destination still unknown!

Also, this reminds me; I know that most of you are receiving my blog posts by email on a very early time. I already had some wondering remarks, "so, you were up early to write". Eh.... no, I wasn't. You see, these emails are being forwarded to you by a computerized system (in Mailchimp) that is set on a timer, no matter how late I sent it out in the world, actually the day before. Also, if you want to learn more about how to use Mailchimp, go to the blog on Blogsociety.

And if you want to know more, visit Jaclyn over Blogsociety or at her Instagram  @blogsociety.

Enjoy your day!
